Love Songs: The World As I See It, Volume 2

People often ask me why I wear this cross.I think they can see in my eyes just a bit of my loss.Sometimes I can't help but grieve,For hearing my words, they don't want to believe.Still, I grasp each chance to share,Praying this time they'll want to compare. That’s the opening to My Testimony, the first poem in The World As I See It. This three-volume series by Kirby Lee Davis examines the many ways God works in our lives. His tools: 98 of his engaging poems and lyrics mixed with more than 300 full-color photos and artworks. With Volume 1, Wondrous Grace, Kirby takes an autobiographical approach, using his own life as a window into our Lord’s endless activities, His wondrous artistry, His limitless power, His gifts of grace, and His love, which inspired all that is. Volume 2, Love Songs, taps 32 of Kirby’s poems/lyrics and 100+ of his photos/artworks to consider the many sides of romance and love. Volume 3, I Stand Amazed, brings the trilogy to a conclusion with 33 poems/lyrics tied to 100+ photos/artworks, all focused on God. It opens with the author’s own praise and worship set before closing with a heartfelt appraisal of his life and faith in Jesus Christ, bringing the series to a touching conclusion.Check out these excerpts from Love Songs:Of all the beauty I have seen,Majestic slopes and forests green,None casts a shadow over you!And of the joys my soul has found,Gifts of life and glories crowned,None can eclipse my love of you! — From You Belong, page 27One glance from you and I long for more! One word from you and my spirits soar! One smile from you pierces to my core! One, just one!
